The most widely used carbomer for clear, firm gels. Shellpol 940 builds high viscosity at low use levels, gives a short, non-drip flow and suspends beads and particles well. A standard choice for hair gels, hand sanitisers, ultrasound and topical gels, and for thickening creams and lotions.

How to use
Sift the powder slowly into the vortex of well-stirred water, let it hydrate fully, then add the base to thicken. Typical use levels are 0.1–1.0%. For neutraliser ratios or formulation advice, ask our technical team.
